Mike is Director of Operations for the Federal Home Loan Bank's Office of Finance (OF) in Reston, Virginia. His primary duty is to oversee the settlement and servicing of all FHLB, FICO, and REFCORP debt obligations.  He is also responsible for developing office-wide strategies, policies and practices for vendor management, records retention, unsecured credit reporting, and information dissemination. Mike represents the FHLBank System on various industry groups, including The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Associations’ (SIFMA) Government Operations Committee and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s Fedwire Securities Customer Advisory Group. In 2005 and 2006, he was a member of the financial services industry working group assisting the Federal Reserve with implementing changes required by revisions to the Payment Systems Risk Policy. Mike received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Virginia Tech. Prior to joining the Office of Finance in 1993, he held various positions at Freddie Mac, primarily with Treasury Operations. Mike is a past Vice President of GWAFP.

Drew is Vice President and Cash Management Sales Officer at Chevy Chase Bank.  He supports the bank’s Government Finance, Virginia Commercial and the Commercial Real Estate groups. Drew has been in banking for over 20 years. Drew served three years on AFP’s Book of Knowledge Committee; the Committee produced the 7th Edition of “Essentials of Cash Management”. Drew passed the initial CCM exam in 1987.  While between banking jobs, Drew temped for a Wall Street brokerage house as a cash manager in its government bond operations for six months.  During the same period, Drew did cash management consulting.  A highlight was advising a regional New Jersey hospital on revamping its cash management practices and hiring its first cash manager. Drew received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Syracuse University. Drew is a CTP and an Accredited ACH Professional.

Denise is Manager of Debt Services for the Federal Home Loan Bank’s Office of Finance (OF) in Reston, Virginia.  She is responsible for the daily settlement and servicing of all FHLB, FICO, and REFCORP debt obligations in both domestic and foreign markets, including cash management of accounts at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRB-NY); Denise has over 20 years of experience in corporate treasury operations. Prior to coming to the OF, Denise served as the Director of Short-Term Funding at CFC (re: the National Rural Utilities Cooperative Finance Corporation) in Herndon, Virginia. She oversaw the cash management function, short-term debt issuance, wire transfer and CFC’s money desk. Before CFC, Denise served for 11 years in a number of treasury department roles at Freddie Mac. Denise has a B.S. in Finance from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Virginia Tech. Denise is a CTP and past Treasurer of GWAFP.

Josephine joined Fairfax County in January 2009 as the County's Investment Manager. She's responsible for managing the unit that invests County funds and manages all of the banking relationships. Prior to Fairfax she spent 13 years at Montgomery County where she also invested County funds and managed its financial services. Between 1993 and 1995 she liquidated securities and various assets for the Resolution Trust Corporation in Washington D.C., an agency created by Congress that dealt with the Savings and Loan bailout. Her experience also includes 7 years as a money market trader for Perpetual Savings Bank in Alexandria, Virginia, and 7 years for the First National Bank of Minneapolis that included foreign exchange trading and student loan collection. She received her education at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and New York University Stern School of Business.

Donna is a Vice President and Senior Treasury Services Sales Officer at PNC Bank, and works with large corporate, governmental and not-for-profit clients in District of Columbia Metropolitan area. She has been in banking for over 17 years. Donna served as Treasurer for the Florida EDI Healthcare User Group for two years and has held the board officer position of Secretary/Treasurer of Quest: Arts for Everyone for the past three years. Prior to her banking experience, she was a Cash Manager for a billion dollar manufacturing company with seven divisions. Donna received two Bachelor of Science degrees from Louisiana State University (English/Art and Education). Donna is a CTP and the most recent past President of GWAFP.

Nancy is the Cash Manager for Discovery Communications where she is responsible for managing the Corporation’s daily cash management functions.  Prior to joining Discovery, Nancy spent nine years as the Treasury Manager of Choice Hotels International.  Her experience also includes twelve years at Freddie Mac where she held various treasury positions including Senior Bank Analyst.  Nancy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Maryland and is a CTP.

Dera S, Cooper is Senior Vice President and Senior Client Manager with Bank of America’s Washington, D.C. Healthcare and Institutions Group where she is responsible for the management of Client relationships and business development for a variety of national not-for-profit entities. Her industry specialties include cultural institutions, labor unions, and political organizations.

 

Prior to joining Healthcare and Institutions, Dera held positions within the Bank which included Washington Commercial Credit Products Manager and Senior Client Manager in the Washington Commercial General Industries Group. Her thirty plus years of banking experience include management positions in credit review, underwriting, and commercial relationship management and sales.

 

Also, Dera has participated on boards and as a volunteer for various not-for-profit entities including the United Way, Junior Achievement, Literacy Volunteers, March of Dimes, and the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Most recently, she has served as President of Housing Unlimited, Inc. of Montgomery County and on the National Business Advisory Board of Experience Works of Arlington, Virginia.

Benie is Vice President of Treasury Management Sales with PNC Bank. She has more than 20 years of Treasury Management experience gained from being a corporate practitioner and a banker. In her current role, she works with large and middle-market corporations, government contracting and not-for-profit organizations. Prior to joining PNC, Benie was with First Horizon Bank and Riggs Bank, and, before becoming a banker, she was a Cash Manager for Sallie Mae. Benie received her BBA in Finance from George Washington University. Benie is a CTP and currently serves as a GWAFP Board Member.

Nancy is the Treasurer for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA). The MWAA operates Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport. Nancy has responsibility for all cash management functions for MWAA's operating and bond funds, including the management of a $650 million portfolio of fixed income securities. The Department of Treasury is also responsible for analysis and reporting of expenditures for the Capital Development Program. Before joining MWAA, Nancy was the Cash Manager for a major land developer in Florida. Nancy received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Finance from Florida International University and an MBA from George Washington University. Nancy is a CTP and a past President of GWAFP.

Adelayda Funes is currently an Assistant Vice President and Cash Management Sales Officer at Chevy Chase Bank in Bethesda, MD. She works with Maryland General Industries, Private Banking and Government Contracting groups. Ms. Funes has 10 years of banking experience in which 6 years have been in Cash Management services. She currently holds a Certified Treasury Professional certification and is a member of the Greater Washington Association of Financial Professionals and serves as Chairperson of the Public Affairs Committee. She began her banking career at Union Planters Bank, later known as Regions Bank. In late 2006, she joined the Cash Management Group at Chevy Chase Bank. Roz is the Director of Treasury Operations at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and is responsible for all domestic and international treasury management functions for the University's operating funds. She has extensive experience with corporate and not-for-profit organizations handling a wide range of cash and management responsibilities. Rosalyn received a Bachelor of Science in Conservation of Natural Resources, Soil Resource Management from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
